Drupaltherapy announces Booster Shots for Drupal 7, a series of half day courses designed to keep beginner and intermediate Drupal users in the know on changes in Drupal 7. Two Booster Shot trainings will be held in Boston, MA, on September 17. Registration below is for session #2 in the afternoon, 1:00PM to 5:00PM. To register for session #1 in the morning from 8:00AM to 12:00PM, click here. All trainings cover the same material, take place at Compuworks in downtown Boston, and feature your trusted therapist Sean Effel
Consider this your immunization against shock, surprise, and confusion when you see the new admin interface. You may likely avoid lightheadedness and fainting when you see D7's baked in field and file support, not to mention the native image handling solution. We can help you be prepared for the new season of Drupal development ahead of us rather than let this new environment get the better of you. We're professionals in this stuff, let us give you a hand.
Booster Shots trainings will cover the following topics in a 4 hour class period:
- Changes in installation requirements and process
- Tours through the new Admin user experience and dashboard
- Updated functionality in core modules and systems
- In depth review of new the Fields, Files and Images systems
- Crystal ball preview of contributed modules that make it (or break it) to Drupal 7 releases
- Even more...
What skill level is this training session geared for? Who will benefit the most from these booster shots? Well, it's a good thing you asked. Individuals who already have Drupal 6 training, practice and experience will benefit greatly from these booster shots. These trainings are designed to fill the gaps between D6 and D7 so prior knowledge of the current Drupal release is essential to understanding the curriculum. Anyone involved with Drupal development at any level will get a solid overview and demonstration of the new Drupal 7 material, whether you are a content editor, top level admin or backend developer. We will be looking at the Drupal interface for the majority of the training, so understanding of code is not necessary - but the training will have material that is revealing for coders as well.
When you complete this half day of training, you will have exposure and practical knowledge in all the major new components and systems found in the new Drupal 7 release. Given that Drupal 6 has been in use for about two years, getting this training early in the life cycle of Drupal 7 will be greatly beneficial.
